Charles Powell

Charles Powell, age 87, of Loxahatchee, Florida, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2019. Charles, better known as "Charlie" to many, was born in Old Harbor Bay, Jamaica, West Indies to Caroline Clarke and Edward Powell. He left Jamaica in 1955 for the United Kingdom, where he met his wife Dorothy Ogilvie. After leaving the U.K., they spent some time in Jamaica and were bitten by the travel bug once again. This time migrating to the United States in 1969 where he worked at Phoenix House later retiring to Florida in 2000.

Charles loved music and traveling.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy, sisters Artise Mitchell and Leonie Grant, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be held to honor and cherish his memories on Tuesday January 14, 2020 beginning at 11:00AM in the Life Celebration Suite at Lakeside Funeral Home. 

Following the service Mr. Powell with be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, 10941 Southern Blvd, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411
