Obituary

Bertram Saul Resnick, a man who lived life on his own terms, has taken his final adventure and is now at peace. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 5, 2023, in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was born on August 16, 1931, in New York to Nathen Albert Resnick and Rita Greenberg Resnick. Bert's life was filled with many fond memories, including moving from the Bronx to the family kasha mill during the Great Depression and running away from home as a pre-teen to convert a pigeon coop on top of a high rise apartment into his "penthouse bachelor pad."

Bert attended The Bronx High School of Science, where he and his friend Morrie Schrader were responsible for blowing up the chemistry lab with an unauthorized experiment. He was also awarded a medal for being the fastest sprinter in the state of New York while in high school. During the Korean War, Bert crafted a letter and reassigned himself to a different post as a clerk.

Bert had many careers. He was an insurance agent, Vice President of Studio Seven responsible for the soundtrack of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, started a computer dating service, opened MetroCrest Graphics and MetroCrest Sound Studio,  a true entrepreneur. He was an animal lover, and had a thirst for knowledge. He was known for his loyalty, amazing memory, and determination. Bert loved meeting and helping those in need, opening his heart and home to them. He spent much of his time doing home repairs or working on his car, and was known on a first-name basis at McDonald's, where he daily held court with a group of friends.

Bert is survived by his wife of over 66 years, Gloria Nameth Resnick, whom he loved from the moment he laid eyes on her. He is also survived by his children, Caryl Abshire (James Abshire) of Rancho Murieta, CA, their children, Chris, Abbi, Lauren & Travis Abshire; Tanya Willis of Royal Palms, FL, her daughter Kendall Willis; Michael Resnick (Angelica Resnick) of Carrollton, TX and their daughters Mia & Leah Resnick; and Michelle Beavers (David Beavers) of Grant, FL and their children Theresa Parks, Tabathia Kriegh,  David, Tanya & Wyatt. Bert also leaves behind many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandsons, Kyle James and Nathan Beavers.

Bert's final adventure may have come to a close, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
