"It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Edwin Cargill. Ed died peacefully of natural causes on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021, at the age of 87.
Ed had the heart of a teacher and a soul of a musician; his life was filled with exquisite beauty and humble generosity. As a schoolteacher of voice and music, the joy of learning and performing was surpassed only by his delight at imparting this love in his students.
The beloved Mr. C touched the lives of thousands over his five-decade career and inspired many to pursue a lifelong love of music. All those touched by Ed will miss him dearly, but we are comforted by the knowledge that he lived a life of passion and purpose. Ed had few regrets, and fewer reasons to have any at all. Even late in life, he would look back only to recall fond memories. Ed knew he was lucky. We, who love him, know we were luckier."
