**Obituary for Enid Hyacinth Denton**
Enid Hyacinth “Mama” Denton, devoted mother of seven children and many other adopted daughters and sons, and loyal friend, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 7:13 am in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Ms. Enid was born on December 8, 1927, St. Ann, Jamaica, and was raised by her mother, Elma in Kingston for most of her young adult life. She and her husband, Eugene, migrated with all the children to New York in 1969. Their home at Anderson Road in Queens, New York provided shelter and succour not only for the family but for the many friends and family who also lived there or visited regularly. It was the haven and stepping stone for many who migrated from Jamaica and just needed a place to ‘kotch’ until they got on their feet. It was a warm house always filled with family and friend, music and dancing. She relocated to West Palm Beach about 9 years ago. Her liveliness, sharp wit and caring left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
A visitation will be held at Lakeside Funeral Home & Cremation Care Celebratory Suite in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering the remarkable life Enid led.
Funeral services will be held at St. David in The Pines - Episcopal Church in Wellington, Florida, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This service will be a celebration of Enid’s enduring faith, compassion, and the joy she brought into the world.
Following the service, Enid will be peacefully entombed at: Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, 10941 Southern Blvd., Royal Palm Beach, FL. 33411
Arrangements are being provided by Lakeside Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Enid's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support and comfort during this time.
