Frank C.K. Fong

Frank Check-Kwong Fong, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.  He was born in Kaiping, China to Chang and Mei-Kum Fong. He married Betty Chow in Hong Kong and they just celebrated their 60th anniversary on October 7, 2021.  

As a student in China, he was a leader and an athlete in various sports, especially swimming. He continued to swim into his 80’s. He graduated from university and worked as an accountant in Hong Kong before emigrating to Montreal, Canada and eventually to South Florida. Frank and Betty moved to the United States to give their children better opportunities. Frank, with his wife, eventually bought a small take-out Chinese restaurant and worked in the business until 1990.  

His family and friends knew him as kind with a good sense of humor. He told many funny stories and anecdotes that would have everyone in stitches. His primary focus was his family throughout his life. After retirement he enjoyed swimming, and taking walks, cooking, watching sports and Chinese dramas with his wife, Betty.  

Survivors include his wife Betty, his daughter Pauline, son Pedro, 3 granddaughters Peyton (18), Stephanie (17) & Natalie (14), son-in-law Mark, and daughter-in-law Jennifer.

父亲大人方焯光，生于1936年11 月18日，痛于2021年10月19日凌晨2点半，在皇家棕榄滩医院重症室安息主怀，享年84有余，父亲一生勤俭，温良敦厚，举家恭孝，和睦亲邻，慈父典范。恨如今阴阳相隔，永失尊颜，潸然泪下，悲痛如焚，铭感肺腑。慈父恩德，山高水长，谆谆教诲，谨记于心！音容宛在，笑貌永存。一愿父亲大人一路走好，永安主怀！再愿慈父在天之灵，护佑后人，家宅平安光辉！

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 25th, 2021, from 11:00 am ~ 1:00 pm, at Lakeside Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Following the service the family will be hosting lunch at Grand Lake Chinese Restaurant, 7750 Okeechobee Blvd., Royal Palm Beach
