**Obituary for Inger Margareta Bilello**


It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Inger Margareta Bilello, beloved mother of her only daughter Kristina Bilello, adored wife of many years of James Bilello, who has since passed, fond sister of her last remaining sibling, Lillie Petersson of Sweden, devoted pet parent to several dogs and cats, and cherished friend of many throughout her long life. For the past twenty years Inger has enjoyed life in sunny Florida, where she cultivated friendships and orchids with great success. She peacefully departed this life on Monday, April 20th, 2026, at the age of 95.

Born on Saturday, June 7th, 1930, on a small farm in Lerum, Sweden, Inger was one of seven children, all of whom worked long hours from a young age to support the large family. Those early lessons of hard work, resourcefulness, and independence, led her to emigrate from Sweden to find adventure and rich experiences in England, to New York City (where she met and married James Bilello), later moving to the suburbs of leafy Connecticut. Inger honed her culinary skills over the years, eventually becoming a sought-after private cook to such luminaries as fashion editor Diana Vreeland, although the most appreciative fans of her creations—apple pies, Swedish cakes and cookies, roast chicken, etc, were her family and friends. Few turned down an invitation to Inger’s table.

A memorial ceremony to honor Inger’s remarkable life and bid her a heartfelt farewell will be held at Lakeside Funeral Home & Cremation Care Life Celebration Suite in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday, April 24th, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Inger are warmly invited to attend. Deacon Joe O'Connell will be officiating the memorial ceremony.
