Jack Lewis Shoemaker Obituary Jackie (Jack) Lewis Shoemaker, 81, passed away on January 11, 2026, in Atlantis, Florida. He was born on September 24, 1944, in Bluffton, Indiana, to Vertner and Jewel Shoemaker. Jack proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran and went on to work for Corning for 30 years as a production manager. After retiring in Wilmington, North Carolina, he spent his later years in West Palm Beach, Florida.
In his youth, Jack trained horses alongside his father and became a successful harness horse driver, winning multiple races. In retirement, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching horse racing. He is survived by his four sons: Paul (Dana) Shoemaker, Craig (Cara) Shoemaker, Matthew (Ashlee) Shoemaker, and Joshua (Jessica) Shoemaker; his 13 grandchildren; and his beloved sister, Judy Williams, who shared a very close bond with him. Jack will be remembered for his dedication to family, his strong work ethic, and his lifelong love of horses.
