Maria Pilar D'Brot

Maria Pilar D'Brot, age 67, resident of Royal Palm Beach, FL, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 20, 2022. She was born on August 27, 1954, the daughter of Olga (Calderon) and the late Amadeo Felice. Maria is survived by her husband of 41 years of marriage, Juan D'Brot III, her son Juan, her daughters Claudia and Vanessa, her grandchildren (Lili, Manny, Danny, Elan, and Ellie), a full and loving family of brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, and countless others who will miss her.

Everyone who knew Maria felt her caring spirit and maternal nature. She will be missed, especially by her grandchildren, whom she spent countless hours loving, caring for, counseling, and being their "mama." A consummate caregiver, she began her life as an elder sister to her siblings, whom she fiercely protected and loved. Later in her life, she cared for others as a nurse and found fulfillment in working with the native tribes of Peru. As a mother, she devoted her life to caring for and raising three children, all of whom will miss her dearly. She was intensely involved in many of her grandchildren's lives. Maria was a voracious reader and loved to challenge herself with puzzles. She loved gardening, cooking, and spending time by the beach. She was also an accomplished culinary artist but found the greatest fulfillment when she witnessed others enjoy her cuisine. 

A celebration of her life will be held at the Lakeside Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach, 11347 Okeechobee Boulevard, on Wednesday, August 31, from 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. The service will begin promptly at 2:45 p.m. We invite those who wish to share any brief thoughts or words of remembrance with the family and friends at the end of the service. Following the service, we invite you to join the family in continuing to celebrate her life at her daughter Claudia's home at 16050 Tuscany Estates Drive, Delray Beach, Florida, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
