Mary Forsythe Obituary

Mary Ellen (Horvath) Forsythe, 70, a beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and cherished fiancé to Steve Yeager, passed away peacefully surrounded by many who love her on March 4, 2024 in West Palm Beach, FL.  Born on April 20,1953, in Phoenixville Hospital, Mary was a lifelong resident of Birchrunville, PA, where she built a life filled with love, creativity, and community.

Mary found great joy in the company of her loved ones, especially as a Mimi to her four beloved grandchildren, Ava, Adam, Rachel and Marty who she lovingly referred to as her “babies.”  In addition to her grandchildren Mary is survived by her mother, Jeanette Horvath, her sons Jason Forsythe, husband of Ashley Forsythe (Finck) and Brett Forsythe, husband of Jessica Forsythe (Kulp) as well as her sister Cheryl Bailey-Emery, wife of Ralph Emery, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Mary is also survived by many dear friends. She was predeceased by her father, Martin Horvath.

Mary embraced her role as a grandmother with all her heart, providing a source of wisdom, comfort, and unconditional love. To her nieces and nephews, she was a second mother. To Steve's parents, children and grandchildren she was a kind and welcome addition to their family, and a source of great joy as they witnessed the happiness that she brought to him.  Together, they blended their families and Mary embraced each and every one of them as her own.

Mary was known for her vibrant spirit, attention to detail, ability to look on the bright side and kind and open heart. She inherited a love for the beauty of nature from her surroundings in Birchrunville, a trait that would define much of her life. Mary’s gardens were her sanctuary, a place where she expressed her creativity through the art of landscaping and flower planting. Each bloom in her garden was a testament to her care and dedication, creating a haven not just for her family but for all who passed by.  She took pride in arranging fresh flowers within her home to complement the seasons and also in decorating her home. Mary's home was a reflection of her; warm, welcoming, and always ready to host gatherings. She cherished the moments spent with her extended family during regular family meals and holidays. Mary frequently journeyed along the East Coast, always seeking to stay close to family members scattered across the region to deepen connections, celebrate life's milestones and weave the fabric of her extended family even tighter. Mary’s kindness, generosity, and spirited nature left a lasting impact on everyone she met. In death those qualities persisted, as her decision to donate her organs allowed the tragedy of her loss to positively impact the health and happiness of others.  Mary embodied the essence of a life well-lived and her absence will forever be felt by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
