In Loving Memory of Richard Kenneth Marshall

Richard Kenneth Marshall, lovingly known as Rick, passed away in Wellington, Florida, on June 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends whose lives he profoundly impacted. He leaves behind a legacy of wisdom, generosity, mentorship, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved.

Born on October 13, 1957, in Superior, Nebraska, Rick was the son of Robert and Marie Marshall. He grew up alongside his sisters, Heidi Ruby and Diana Gass, and graduated from Superior High School with the Class of 1975. The values of hard work, humility, and genuine care for others that were instilled during his Nebraska upbringing remained at the core of who he was throughout his life.

Rick's professional journey began in sales, a career that first took him to Arizona and eventually to Texas in 1981. Possessing a natural ability to connect with people and recognize potential in others, he co-founded Marshall Career Service with Dana Marshall in 1982. Over the decades, Rick became far more than a career advisor. He became a trusted mentor, coach, confidant, and friend to countless individuals. Whether helping someone navigate a career transition, discover a new path, or simply find confidence in themselves, Rick had an extraordinary gift for helping people see possibilities they did not know existed.

What made Rick truly special was his generosity with his time. He never seemed too busy for a conversation, a question, or someone in need of guidance. From executives and business leaders to neighbors, friends, and complete strangers, Rick treated everyone with the same warmth, respect, and attention. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, heard, and valued, while helping them recognize strengths and possibilities they often could not see in themselves. Known for his sharp shoes, impeccable style, and unmistakable presence, Rick brought confidence, warmth, and authenticity into every room he entered.

Above all, Rick was devoted to his family. He welcomed his first son, Brock, in 1977 and his second son, Pryce, in 1984. He built a life centered on family, faith, friendship, and the relationships that mattered most. In 1994, he purchased a farm in Weatherford, Texas, creating a place filled with memories and gatherings. His love for his Nebraska roots remained strong, and in 2006 he fulfilled a dream by purchasing a ranch in the Sand Hills of Nebraska. In 2019, Rick and Jill made Wellington, Florida, their home. He quickly embraced the community, forming meaningful friendships and leaving the same lasting impact there that he had everywhere else throughout his life.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Jill Townsend; his son Brock Emery and wife Stephanie, and his granddaughters, Madilynn, Myla, and Malayna; his son Pryce Marshall and wife Corinne, and his grandchildren, Ash, Brighton, and Sully; his cherished bonus family Scott Townsend and wife Dyanne, and his grandsons, Ashton and Conrad; Renick Townsend Jacobs and husband Louie Jacobs; his sister, Heidi Ruby and his nephew Ben Ruby and wife Bailee; and his nieces and nephews of his late sister, Diana Gass: Michael, Mark, Shelly, and Sheila.

He is also survived by countless beloved extended family members, dear friends, colleagues, clients, and all those whose lives he touched through his wisdom, generosity, and unwavering belief in others. Rick's legacy lives on in the people he encouraged, the relationships he cherished, and the countless lives he changed through his generosity, wisdom, and belief in others. He leaves behind a family, a community, and a network of friends and colleagues who are better because they knew him.

A Memorial Celebration will be held on July 18, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Stallion Restaurant, 11630 Polo Club Road, Wellington, Florida 33414. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather, share stories, reminisce, and celebrate the remarkable life of a man whose kindness, wisdom, and generosity touched so many. All who knew Rick are welcome to attend and honor the memories, lessons, laughter, and love he shared throughout his life.

Though Rick's presence will be deeply missed, his lessons, his laughter, and his unwavering belief in others will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.
