On Monday, December 7, 2020, Thomas Keith Hollister, loving father of four beloved sons, passed away suddenly at the age of 64 in Wellington, Florida.
Thomas was born on March 19, 1956 in Bay City, Michigan to Keith and Artheal (Marks) Hollister. He graduated from Bay City Central High School, Class of 1974. He held a State of Florida Real Estate Brokers license, Class A Commercial Drivers License, Department of Transportation-Federal Aviation Administration Flight Attendant License and a Department of Transportation-Federal Aviation Administration Commercial Pilot License. On April 18, 1983, he married his high school sweetheart, Catherine (Sigelko) Seward and fathered two identical twin sons, Clay & Oaks. On September 9, 1995, he married Jeni (George) Hollister and fathered two sons, Cash & Jett.
He had a deep passion for hot air ballooning and aviation of every kind that started in his teenage years when he re-located from the small farm town of Munger, Michigan to South Florida at the age of 18, and that passion only continued to grow the remainder of his 64 years. Piloting tourists, family and friends on hot air balloon rides in Key West, Florida and small airplanes throughout the Gulf and across the Atlantic Ocean in his early years, then culminating with 40+ years of dedicated service as a Flight Attendant for multiple commercial airlines including Air Florida, American Airlines and Spirit Airlines. He was an avid runner and cyclist who firmly believed in the importance of taking care of “Your Body & Your Bank Book”. He was also a music lover who most enjoyed the musical stylings of Richard Marx, Huey Lewis & The News, Bruce Springsteen and Justin Bieber. But most of all, he loved nothing more in his life, than his four sons. They were his true Pride and Joy. In his own words, he once said, “I will spend my last dollar & my last breath in support of each of my four Son’s, if they are on a life path believed to be good…” He was best known by many for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his always kind and compassionate spirit.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Keith, his mother, Artheal, and his brother Michael. He is survived by his four sons, Oaks (fiancé Courtney), Clay (wife Nichole), Cash and Jett, five grandchildren, Heaven, Noah, Carter, Nevaeh and Emma, his brothers Daniel (wife Sherry), Guy (wife Candy), Josh (wife Mary), Gordon (wife Sandy), and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration memorial will be held in the coming month, details are still to be determined, and will be published for public notice when set. Condolences and/or donations can be sent to 512 S. Kiesel St, Bay City, MI 48706.
